About the Gallery

The Business Gauges™ Sensors Gallery is a growing repository of ready-to-use sensors. Gallery sensors are available for download in BGP (Business Gauges Package) format, and can be used as reference when learning how to create your own sensors using the Business Gauges Console™.


Using Gallery Sensors

After you've downloaded a sensor from the gallery, use the Business Gauges Console™ to import the BGP file into any category you choose. The sensor will be loaded into the Business Gauges Service™ and you will become the sensor owner.

Financial Services


USD Exchange Rates

This set of 10 sensors retrieve the up-to-date currency exchange rate of the USD with 10 other foriegn currencies. Values are obtained directly from the web using web page sensors.


DOW and NASDAQ indices

This package includes two web page sensors that obtain the up-to-date DOW and NASDAQ indices from the web.




Retail & E-Commerce


ZenCart Indications

This set of sensors is an example for how to directly connect to an e-store database and retrieve three important indications for any retailer: Daily Orders Count, Registered Users Count and Online Users Count. These are database sensors designed to work with the ZenCart e-commerce platform MySQL database.
Note: to use these sensors, your service host must have the MySQL ODBC drivers installed.



IT Management


CPU Utilization

This scripted sensor uses the Windows Performance Data Helpers API to obtain the current CPU utilization value of the computer hosting the sensor. This is a nice example of using the python(r) scripting language to create a customized sensor.


Memory Usage

This is another scripted sensor that uses the Windows Performance Data Helpers API, this time to obtain the amount of RAM used (committed bytes) by the computer hosting the sensor.


Disk Capacity

This scripted sensor will detect the amount of used disk space in drive C. You can choose which disk drive to check by changing the drive letter in the script (drive='D', drive='Z' etc.).



Miscellaneous


Number Of Files In Folder

This scripted sensor will obtain the the number of files matching a specified criteria in a folder of your choice. This type of sensor can be useful for project metrics, workload measurements or throughput assessment.
